Overnight oats are a super healthy option to have in the morning, on the go or as a snack to keep those cravings at bay.

If you have never heard of overnight oats before, they are basically a no-cook method of making porridge. Instead of cooking your oats with liquid in a pot with water or in the microwave, you mix rolled oats with the liquid and other goodies, and simply place it in the fridge overnight to soak up all the goodness.

Once soaked for a few hours, you have a creamy pudding-like porridge that is perfect for easy snacking and grab-and-go breakfasts. It doesn’t have the same texture as your traditional cooked oats in a pot. It’s creamier, denser, and personally I think it's tastier too! Overnight oats have a high fibre content keeping you fuller for longer and helping to keep those afternoon cravings away.

We asked our staff here at BoostandCleanse what their favourite grab-and-go breakfast was, and you know what they said? Overnight oats!

There are countless methods for making overnight oats recipes out there, so i'll show you some of our favourites and staff picks at boostandcleanse. Most overnight oats recipe combinations are so easy to make you don't need any complicated overnight oats equipment. You can easily whip up overnight oats in just a regular bowl or a food storage container with a lid.

To make a basic overnight oats recipe even healthier add some organic superfoods for some extra nutrition, more energy, clearer skin, better focus and general wellbeing.

Our go-to base is simply oats soaked with some form of liquid, (the most popular options are overnight oats with almond milk, overnight oats with greek yogurt and overnight oats with water) A naturally organic sweetener (birch syrup, dates, honey, maple syrup) and optionally other seeds and nuts (hemp nuts, flaxseed, almonds, walnuts). We always choose to add some form of protein to our overnight oats jar, nuts are great or what we recommend is organic hemp protein powder as it's vegan friendly, full of fibre, complete with essential fatty acids and nutrient packed!

Simple Overnight Oats Tip:

Overnight oats keep well in the refrigerator for up to five days – make them on Sunday night, and you’ll have a healthy breakfast ready every day for the whole workweek!
